Prime Video’s new series *Carrie* premieres October 7, bringing Stephen King’s iconic story back for a new generation. In this exclusive *Click and Tell* interview, *Summer H. Howell, Samantha Sloyan, Alison Thornton, and Matthew Lillard* discuss the new adaptation of *Carrie*, working with Mike Flanagan, and how the classic story has been completely reimagined for the social media era.
The cast talks about expanding Carrie into an eight-episode series, exploring the characters and relationships beyond the story audiences already know, and finding new ways to build toward the iconic prom sequence. They also discuss the challenges of adapting a story that has been told multiple times before while still making this version feel fresh and relevant.
Summer H. Howell opens up about playing Carrie and seeing aspects of herself in the character, including the feeling of being an outsider while growing up. Alison Thornton discusses playing Chris and finding the pain underneath her character's cruelty, while Samantha Sloyan explores Margaret White’s complicated relationship with Carrie and the blurred line between protecting and controlling her daughter.
The cast also discusses *social media, bullying, teenage life, kindness, representation, and the pressures young people face today**, with the new *Carrie using its supernatural horror story to explore very real issues affecting modern teenagers. Matthew Lillard also talks about the show's characters and Mike Flanagan's approach to bringing a classic Stephen King story into 2026. *Carrie* premieres October 7 exclusively on **Prime Video**.
