Some guys LIVE hockey. Justin Schmit is about as old school as they come.

We went back to his Midget AAA days, playing for the legendary Hounds at a private school in Saskatchewan, where he racked up 15 fights. And if you thought things were going to slow down in junior hockey, think again. Over 200 PIMs later, he carried that same mentality into the SPHL.

Justin is the ultimate teammate. First guy to show up, lives for being at the rink with the boys, and always has his teammates’ backs. It’s never been about the spotlight for him. It’s about the game, the friendships and the memories.

He’s currently waiting on his visa to get back to the Fed, while already making his mark in the Quebec league with 6 fights in 8 games. Some things never change!

But there’s a much deeper story to Justin.

This summer, he’s taking on an incredible challenge: rollerblading across Canada in support of suicide awareness, in memory of his brother who he tragically lost.

We shared some stories in this episode that will hit you right in the heart. There are laughs, some unbelievable hockey stories, and moments that might leave you reaching for the tissues.

This one’s bigger than hockey.

Tune in for Episode 161 of Between the Benches with RallSauce
","author_name":"Ryan Allen"}
