EPISODE 157 – PETER & TAYLOR BUDAJ 🏒🔥
Presented by COOL Blonde Lager 🍺
Beauties and Rockstars, we’ve got a first for Between the Benches! Our first-ever husband and wife duo, Peter and Taylor Budaj.
Peter takes us through his road to the NHL, from being a European draft pick to playing OHL hockey in Toronto, making his NHL debut, and sharing the room with some absolute legends between the pipes: Patrick Roy, Carey Price and Jonathan Quick. He also gives us some stories from his days in Colorado and what it was like playing in Montreal.
But Taylor’s got her own all-star stories. She takes us back to her first NHL game… three years after Peter’s debut, and what life was really like inside the wives’ club.
We get into moving 13 different times, new teams, new schools, and raising two AAA hockey boys while following the hockey life across the country. Philly became home base because it put Peter in a good spot to see the boys when he was travelling on the road.
And then there’s their first date. Peter was ignoring Taylor, so she grabbed his phone and put her number in herself. THAT’S an all-star move right there!
One’s an NHL goalie who played with legends. The other’s a hockey mom who’s been navigating the chaos of hockey life for years. Different roles, same team, and making the distance work one season at a time.
This one’s got hockey stories, family life, laughs and a whole lot of realness.
