Makayla Lomax, 31, Marrisa Johnson, 26, and Morgan Donahue, 21, are accused of various forms of abuse. According to the investigation, which began in February, the employees allegedly threw objects at the students, yelled at them, and called them names. Specifically, Johnson and Donahue are accused of feeding a student with a digestive disability Takis with hot sauce in late 2022, despite knowing about the child's condition. Lomax also faces charges of third-degree child abuse and offensive touching for allegedly hitting a student in the face and spraying the victim with a water bottle as a form of discipline. The Smyrna Police Department has charged all three with endangering the welfare of a child. The school district has stated that the relevant employees have not been in contact with students since the allegations came to light and that most of the individuals involved no longer work for the district. The district is cooperating with law enforcement and will report the incidents to the Department of Education's Division of Licensure and Certification.</p>","author_name":"Hot Off Podcast"}
