In 2004, 18-year-old Xu Xiaofang vanished after meeting her boyfriend. Her family paid ransom, but she was already murdered and buried by the married Kou Tianfu. He escaped custody, hid in Indonesia for years, was later arrested for another crime, and in 2015 received a death sentence.
