This research file continues the events set in motion during The Knife’s Edge, deepening the first movement of the unfolding Oteev storyline.
When the record begins, Earl, Mr. Fields, and Aubrey are each discovered in places they should never be, living lives that stand in direct opposition to everything they once were. Familiar identities feel distant. Choices feel rewritten. Even memory itself seems uncertain.
The question is no longer what has happened… but what is real. Is this transformation the natural consequence of forces already unleashed? Or is something supernatural at work, an unseen hand shaping reality in the wake of the Vega’s release?
As fear tightens its grip, truth becomes harder to recognize, and the boundary between self and illusion begins to erode. What remains may not be who they were…
