The legislation&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/e69d105d?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><u>passed</u></a>&nbsp;with 114 Democrats, 193 Republicans, and one independent in support and now heads to the Senate. Opponents tried —&nbsp;and failed — to repeal the new system in 2024, but another repeal effort is on the ballot in 2026. Earlier this year, Senior Editor Will Kaback traveled to Alaska to talk with advocates on each side and investigate what Alaskans really think of their new system.
