The man, Damon Landor, sued both the Louisiana Department of Corrections and several of its officers individually under the&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/7776261d?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act</a>&nbsp;(RLUIPA), which defines the religious rights of people held in institutions that receive federal funding.
