And I haven’t been shy about that.</p><p><br></p><p>Like most independents, with whom Trump currently has a&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/907baa02?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">net –33 approval rating</a>, I’ve found the first 16 months of his presidency alarming, frustrating, and disappointing. Less than a year into his new term, I was already writing about how&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/03d91b87?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">things had gotten pretty bad</a>. I’ve since written about the&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/0b1bc07e?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">self-dealing and corruption</a>, which came&nbsp;<em>before&nbsp;</em><a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/84f4431a?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">the Justice Department slush fund</a>&nbsp;and the IRS deal promising to never&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/2a26f5e6?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">investigate or audit his business or his family for any past tax returns</a>. After his “Praise be to Allah” social media post, which included the open threat of a war crime, I&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.readtangle.com/r/2f7bac15?m=c128382d-3df4-42e5-be0b-357e72caf266\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">said</a>&nbsp;the president seemed unwell and unfit for the job. It seems as if he innovates a new norm-breaking indignity every day, and I think being “honest,” “independent,” and “nonpartisan” necessitates calling those things out...</p><p><br></p><p><em>What do you think?
