As diplomats prepare to lower the station’s defenses for a historic reception, Eric realizes the organ is not merely translating their words. It is teaching him to see human bodies the way they do, and it has its own methods for keeping a useful host cooperative.
With his nervous system becoming part of an alien network and every direct warning cut off at the source, Eric must find a loophole inside the language before the station lowers its last defense.
