A night-shift train conductor inspecting a stalled freight train discovers a heavily armored Department of Energy boxcar leaking a highly corrosive biological fluid onto the tracks. When he opens the sealed door, he finds military personnel frantically trying to stabilize a wounded, nonhuman survivor recovered from a recent aerospace crash.
