A Nevada state trooper is ordered to provide late-night highway escort for a Department of Energy convoy carrying massive, unmarked steel pressure tanks. When a tire blowout sends the lead truck into a ravine, one of the tanks breaches, releasing a towering, heavily armored nonhuman captive that immediately begins hunting the surviving guards. With communications jammed by the government transport vehicles, the trooper must survive the night in the desert against an apex predator.
