This week’s Major Star is Mrs Miggins, the warm-hearted coffee shop owner with a weird predilection for that patented Blackadder blend of sharp sarcasm and even sharper cheekbones. A welcome female addition to the sausage fest that is Blackadder The Third, she claims to have a “brain the size of a sultana” but then reveals herself to be a canny businesswoman with a floury finger on the pulse of the times.

A dyed-in-the-wool Series One devotee, Mark talks about why, in his view, nothing comes close to the dark, plague-infested glory of The Black Adder
