In the final episode of the PRIME Podcast host Bridget Anderson is re-joined by the Coordinator of the project and her co-PI, Professor Martin Ruhs, with whom she had her first conversation in this podcast series more than two years ago. Together they reflect back on the ambitious scope of the PRIME project, how it was organised differently from many EU-funded projects, and in what ways that has been worth it. Bridget asks Martin why it was so important to focus on the role of national institutions in shaping the experiences of irregular migrants and whether the project's research data indicates that countries can learn from each other regarding policies and rights. Both Martin and Bridget have work in the field of migration studies for many years and they discuss what has changed methodologically in this time.
Finally, Martin explains the role of PRIME Hub, which will continue to expand the network of policy actors and researchers involved in the project and draw on its wealth of research data to inform policy debates around irregular migration in the longer term.
