This week on 5 With A Digger, we’re sitting down with Tom Barbary, known to many through the Reggie’s podcast.
Tom joined the navy cadets at just 12 years old after a mate down the road invited him along. He kept going back and found lifelong friendships, valuable life skills and an experience that helped shape the man he is today.
We talk about his time in the cadets, four ACTs at HMAS Cerberus, the lessons he still carries with him, and the best mate he met there who he tragically lost in a car accident. And we hear why Tom still reckons he was robbed of Cadet of the Year and an all-expenses-paid trip to Kokoda.
We also chat about the amazing community the podcast world has brought together and Barbz life day to day as a horse trainer on the Sunshine Coast.
A powerful conversation about mateship, loss, life lessons and the experiences that stay with you.
