When we lived in Halifax, we used to drive past the Fairview Cove Container Ship Terminal. Most medium sized cities on the coast will have a dock like this where water based deliveries are picked up and dropped off. Massive ships piled high with stacked steel containers filled with anything and everything. You may have also come across videos of these same ships in the middle of their journey with rough waters and intense storms. Your heart stops when you see 1,200 ft waves (or 169 Shaq’s), as the ship dips well below the water line as it moves through these monster waves. It always made me think - do these ships ever lose containers since they’re 10 - 12 containers high? Do these ships ever get in trouble on the water? Yes, yes they do.
