The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) sees an increasing role of removals in reaching net zero and limiting global warming.\r\n\r\nHowever, the concept of CDR is often misunderstood and confused with other storage and usage methods. To discuss this, we sat with Mark Preston Aragonès, a policy manager for carbon accounting at NGO Bellona Europa.\r\n\r\nTogether with Mark, we will find out what CDR is and what isn’t, as the European Commission expects to put forward a proposal on the certification of carbon removals that should bring more integrity and accountability to the system.\r\n\r\nEnjoy the dispatch!\r\n\r\nIf you have any thoughts or questions about anything that has been discussed in this week's episode, you can reach us at our Twitter accounts:\r\nMark Preston: https://twitter.com/markprstn\r\nSam Morgan: https://twitter.com/SamJamesMorgan\r\nAnna Gumbau: https://twitter.com/AnnaGumbau\r\n@Policy Dispatch: https://twitter.com/PolicyDispatch\r\nFORESIGHT Climate & Energy: https://twitter.com/FORESIGHTdk\r\n\r\nListen and subscribe to Policy Dispatch wherever you get podcasts.
