Welcome to ’60 Minutes or less’ - a podcast from Birthday Cake For Breakfast - where for episode 65, we get fuzzy, welcoming Bert Hoover, Jon Modaff and Charles Moothart of power-trio supergroup Primitive Ring!
Formed in September 2024 and featuring players from the likes of Groop, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Fuzz and GØGGS, last year saw Primitive Ring release four 7\"s across four choice labels at home and in the UK. As expected, these sold like hot cakes and built up anticipation for their forthcoming debut album.
With them being spread out across Los Angeles, I caught up with the three of them over Zoom in April 2026, where we spoke of their self-titled debut album - out now on In the Red Records - as well as their influences and aesthetic, collaborating with different labels and being creative during times of hardship.
