In our latest episode we’re in the science labs with Head of Chemistry Mr Schofield teaching Second Years and Lower Sixth Formers about batteries. A former director at a city investment bank, Mr Schofield switched to teaching to help future generations of chemists fulfil their potential. For him, Chemistry is about getting hands on; ‘we do the theory, then apply it in practice, and it's a great way to learn.’ Around since 1799, batteries are everywhere in our day-to-day life and battery technology is key to providing a more sustainable and greener future – an essential topic for all today’s young scientists.
