In the small, sleepy town of Fayetteville, West Virginia - George and Jennie Sodder - who had allowed their 9 children to stay up later than usual in order to play with Christmas Gifts - were finally putting their children to bed… In the hours that followed, Jennie was awoken by a mysterious and highly disturbing phone caller, as well as the sounds of “banging and rolling” on the roof of the Sodder house. Suddenly, the home became engulfed in flames - and the fire rapidly spread. George, Jennie and four of the nine Sodder children frantically fled the house to the streets below, but the other five children were allegedly trapped - and tragically perished - in the attic. All of this occurred whilst the remaining members of the Sodder Family watched on in horror…
