In our final release from Combo Breaker 2026, we had the pleasure of chopping it up with Maryland's own man of fire photos and hot takes. When Rell isn't giving us hot (and potentially inflammatory) food takes, he's been behind both the clipboard and camera for a decade, supporting not only the events but the people who make them happen. Getting started at Big E Gaming events (Summer Jam, NEC, Winter Brawl), he's since branched out to becoming one of the most well-traveled and consistent faces across the community; adding credits from Capcom, Paragon, TampaNeverSleeps, Riot Games, and BandaiNamco to his resume.
As a photographer, he credits his experience as a player being critical to getting the right moment for a shot.
\"I think the benefit is actually being a fighting game player, and knowing what's happening in-game, situations and sometimes knowing the stories of the players; I know they played here, and what could happen, who could pop-off and why. I'm gonna be real, it's like a fighting game; we're in 50/50 guesses all the time. If a player is on P1 side, is he gonna pop-off? Is he gonna turn towards me? I don't know, you could say my style is guessing.\"
A man of many talents, his motivation is making sure everyone has a good time and making the jobs easier. \"I'm still chasing goats, I'm just taking lanes to learn from everyone; I'm down to help everybody; like while I do love taking my photos, I will say that. I do love just running brackets sometimes, just being at the table, having the conversations, you meet a lot of people that way.\"
