They discuss the loss of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, who was to blame and why the <a href=\"https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/politics/2026/11/04/midterms-2026-the-key-takeaways-trump-democrats/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">defeats were so convincing</a>. Tim suggests it is <a href=\"https://www.telegraph.co.uk/donald-trump/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">the president</a> who should shoulder the majority of the blame, saying: “<a href=\"https://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/2026/11/04/david-blair-trumps-midterm-drubbing-recipe-greater-chaos/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Trump</a> lost because he betrayed Maga. If he was elected to do one thing, it was to stay out of foreign wars.” They also examine how the Republicans’ aggressive <a href=\"https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/11/04/midterms-trump-republicans-lose-can-only-blame-themselves/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">campaign tactics</a> appeared to backfire on several fronts, suggesting voters are tiring of attack-led politics and personal assaults on opponents. Camilla and Tim also examine the lack of clear leadership in both the Republican and Democratic parties, with neither having an obvious standard-bearer before the 2028 presidential election.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Telegraph is the Publisher Podcast Awards&#39; Podcast Publisher of the Year 2026</strong></p><p><br></p><p>► Get more exclusive Daily T content from The Daily T+ membership! <u><a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxAP0Fco7gT9sUsLHk2qLSw/join\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Join here</a>.</u></p><p><br></p><p>► We want to hear from you!
