In this episode of The Daily T, Tim Stanley and Poppy Coburn react to the public outrage after prime minister Andy Burnham confirmed that while he has excluded criminals jailed for rape and child sex offences from early release policy, thousands of dangerous criminals will be freed under the government’s policy to address overcrowding. This includes two of Pc Andrew Harper’s killers, who will be eligible to be freed halfway through their sentences under these plans.


Tim and Poppy speak to Aileen O’Connor, chair of the Thames Valley Police Federation, who says police officers have been left demoralised by the government’s decision - and that the public will ultimately be left feeling less safe.


Tim and Poppy also pay tribute the late journalist Rod Liddle, discuss the French government’s reaction Reform UK’s ‘Operation Fortress’, as well as the pact talks between Reform UK's Nigel Farage and Restore Britain’s Rupert Lowe.
