In Kyiv, locally based researcher, Taras Lazar, an associate professor turned war crimes investigator, arranges for Bruce to speak with the last people to be in contact with Andrew Bagshaw. Andrew and fellow ‘hell jumper’, British volunteer Christopher Parry, had been trying to rescue an elderly woman from Soledar when they failed to return. Through eyewitness accounts and a remarkable recording made as another hell jumper attempted to reach the stranded woman, Bruce pieces together what happened on this dangerous mission.
