We speak with the judges Jez Riley French, Kate Carr, Rana Eid and Will René about “nature” and sound preservation, the ethics of field recording, sound as a political act, and the poetry of imagined sounds. The interviews are followed by a sound collage composed from this years’ entries, featuring recordings submitted from across the world.
