It's hard to image the director wasn't just trolling everyone with this movie.  It's \"The Fright Before Christmas\" from 2020.  When a magical, maniacal Santa Claus mysteriously appears at a holiday party, the guests all end up terrified and tortured. But the physical torture is only the beginning. This Santa also insists on telling them scary stories, which aren't scary at all and seem kind of pointless.  So it's psychological torture too I guess.
