It is the third book of the <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Tower_(series)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Dark Tower</em></a> series. The original limited edition hardcover featuring full-color illustrations by Ned Dameron was published in 1991 by <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_M._Grant,_Publisher,_Inc.\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Grant</a>. The book was reissued in 2003 to coincide with the publication of <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Tower_V:_Wolves_of_the_Calla\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla</em></a>. The book derives its title from the <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T._S._Eliot\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">T. S. Eliot</a> 1922 poem <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Waste_Land\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Waste Land</em></a>, several lines of which are reprinted in the opening pages. In addition, the two main sections of the book (\"Jake: Fear in a Handful of Dust\" and \"Lud: A Heap of Broken Images\") are named after lines in the poem. <em>The Waste Lands</em> was nominated for the 1991 <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bram_Stoker_Award_for_Novel\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Bram Stoker Award for Novel</a>.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>Legion</em></strong> is a 1983 <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horror_fiction\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">horror novel</a> by American writer <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Peter_Blatty\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">William Peter Blatty</a>, a sequel to <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exorcist_(novel)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Exorcist</em></a>. It was adapted for the film <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exorcist_III\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Exorcist III</em></a> in 1990. Like <em>The Exorcist</em>, it involves demonic possession. The book was the focus of a court case over its exclusion from <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_York_Times_Best_Seller_list\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The New York Times</em> Best Seller list</a>. Blatty based aspects of the Gemini Killer on the real life <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zodiac_Killer\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Zodiac Killer</a>, who in a January 1974 letter to the <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Chronicle\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>San Francisco Chronicle</em></a> had praised the original <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exorcist_(film)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Exorcist</em></a> film as \"the best satirical comedy that I have ever seen\".</p><p><br></p><p>“<strong>Our discussion will touch on the potential sexual assault depicted in the book, murder, and other heavier topics.
