I’m really excited to be sharing this episode today, It’s with Aasiyah Abdulsalam and she’s the founder of a company called The Renatural and the inventor of her first patented product - The Wig Fix. It’s a product that’s used by anyone who wears wigs and it’s been a total game changer for so many women (and men!) around the world. 77,000 to be precise.
Aasiyah talks through her scrappy approach to marketing and finding her first thousand customers, the process to patenting a new product and her experience with raising capital.
Diving into the world of business and entrepreneurship has taught this first-time founder one very important lesson: you have to be shameless in order to succeed. Shamelessly ask, shamelessly promote, and shamelessly challenge the status quo.\"There's no such thing as a dumb question. You have to be shameless in order to grow.\" If you've ever been made to feel like you're asking a stupid question, you're probably asking the wrong person. The right partners, business or not, will make space for the seemingly silly questions to be answered with consideration and patience. Because there is no such thing as a silly question. Every question is valid, girl.
