Today on the show we’re chatting to Cara Oppenheimer about her new venture, goodbuy. And this episode is a little different to our usual ecomm founder stories. I came across a post on LinkedIn by Cara announcing her new brand and realised straight away that we have a lot of synergies in the missions that we have between goodbuy and Female Startup Club. We both strive to empower small business owners in ecommerce to create successful businesses; make money and be happy and fulfilled in life. And the way she’s doing that is through a ridiculously simple chrome extension.

The way it works is that once you add it to your browser it automatically intercepts all your online shopping searches (think mega-retailers like amazon and target), and diverts you to the same products from over 183,000 small businesses.
The database has over 19 million products to ensure you get exactly what you need, the moment you need it, and shows you these products from a values-aligned small businesess like AAPI-owned, American made, Black-owned, certified ethical, sustainable, women owned and so many others
They’re all about shopping small, shopping easily, and shopping what matters to you! How cool is that?
I loved this episode so much! It’s the first time I’ve spoken to someone who’s built a chrome extension and it’s fascinating to hear. We talk through what it actually takes to build something like this in tech as a non technical founder, why it matters and a few other gems. I hope you enjoy it too.
