The son and daughter of legendary publican Charlie Chalke are doing porridge in a Limerick jail for a brutal and unprovoked assault after a day of celebrations went bad. Mother-of-three Alison and newlywed Bill Chalke were stunned when their custodial sentences were handed down last month.
But should they have been surprised that they were jailed due to the nature of the assaults on their victims? And would an appeal now be a gamble or a chance of freedom?
