What does it really mean to live at peace?
Peace is often something we think of as a feeling, a quiet moment, or simply the absence of conflict. But in Colossians 3: 15, Paul invites us into something much deeper: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.”
That little word let opens up a bigger conversation about our relationship with God. God takes the initiative toward us, but he also gives us the freedom to respond. We aren't simply passive recipients of God's grace. We participate in what he is doing in our lives.
And biblical peace begins with something even deeper than our circumstances. Through Christ, we have peace with God. We have been reconciled to the One who created us. That changes how we understand peace, and it changes how we move through everything else.
So what is actually ruling your heart? Fear? Circumstances? Other people's opinions? Uncertainty? Or are you allowing the peace of Christ to have the final word?
