What does it actually mean to be raised with Christ?
Colossians 3 calls us to set our hearts and minds on things above, but what does that look like when real life keeps demanding our attention? Business frustrations, broken things around the house, political turmoil, difficult relationships, and the ordinary noise of life can easily pull our hearts in a hundred different directions.
This message takes an honest look at what it means to intentionally orient our hearts toward Christ. Setting our minds on things above isn't about pretending earthly problems don't matter or trying to manufacture the right emotions. It is about choosing where our hearts will be anchored, much like setting a cornerstone or choosing, day after day, to remain committed in a lifelong marriage.
The gospel changes us from the inside out. Rather than simply trying to change our behavior and hoping our hearts eventually follow, God transforms our hearts and affections first. As our hearts become centered on Christ, our thoughts, choices, and actions begin to follow.
So here's the question at the heart of this message: How is your heart, really?
