Naren Patel first arrived in the UK as an unaccompanied 17 year old medical student from Tanzania in 1956. He went on to become a world renowned Consultant Obstetrician leading ground breaking research into fetal abnormality. He was the first Asian to be awarded The Order of The Thistle.
