Margaret Walsh joined Tommy Marren this morning to raise awareness about dense breast tissue. In 2023, despite having a clear mammogram and ultrasound, what was breast cancer was identified in Margaret's breasts and she underwent a double mastectomy. The breast tissue was tested in America and a 27mm tumor was found. Margaret discovered she had dense breast tissue which increases the risk of breast cancers and makes it harder to identify through mammograms. Margaret is now on a 5 year treatment plan and working to make dense breast tissue testing mandatory in Ireland.
