Season 3 kicks off with my BIG THINKERS series and the first duck in the pond is Josh Simons, the CEO of Vinyl Group. Josh started his music career as a professional musician. His band 'Buchanan' had considerable success but it was while he was contemplating his long term future for his band that he came up with the idea for Vampr - think Linkedin for music creatives! His quest for success with Vampr lead him on a journey to the US where he continued to finesse the tech and to raise more money. COVID then got in the way which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Josh had bigger idea's and decided to make Vampr a sum of a bigger part. First he went and brought JAXTA - the IDMB for Music- and then Brag Media (home to Rolling Stone and themusic.com) to sit alongside Vampr. Combined the company is now known as the VINYL GROUP- the first ASX-listed music company in Australia. So what's next for Josh and his vision for the new company???
