My guest this week is comedian, actor & musician Jon Daly (Kroll Show, Fallout, Comedy Bang Bang, Curb Your Enthusiasm), who picked the skin-crawling, jaw-dropping documentary History Of The Eagles.
We also discuss Jon's intersection between music and comedy, how his Red Hot Chili Peppers Super Bowl parody composition fooled the universe into thinking it was real, growing up in Pittsburgh, our uncles' record collections, living inside comedy records, Jon working on his comedy record with musical legends Mary Timony, Colleen Green & Nick Thorburn, the creation of Jon's epic Adult Swim Golf Classic (starring himself and Adam Scott), Linda Ronstadt, Glenn Frey's intense state of mind, are The Eagles the most humorless band of all time, why everyone loves Joe Walsh, Fleetwood Mac having the ultimate revenge on The Eagles, Flying Burrito Brothers & Poco, the hilarious story of UK producer Glyn Jones working with the band, how the band really believed they were rebels and outlaws, the underlying anger running through the band, David Geffen ripping them off, their solo careers and MTV domination, the Dead Kennedys Nazi Punk Fuck Off surprise visit in this doc, the third encore concept, the most disgusting Eagles lyric, and more!
