Later, after years of rehab, she was offered sailing training which she says appealed to her competitive spirit.</p><p><br></p><p>You can see Alexandra in action&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aw6VJyrAMk\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">here</a>, with her sailing partner Niki Birrell at the 2016 Paralympics.</p><p><br></p><p>She’s now retired from professional sailing competition, but remains very connected to the sport, through her work as the director of sustainability for&nbsp;<a href=\"https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2fwww.sailing.org%2f&amp;c=E,1,YxxcFp0vPcKNbWtO0bqrWfRmhEIlq4txrAF2RjCwfNLhZJLL0xEwPxu8wDet7CtPOsf_ubT1TPp5zC6mugiQ13Fzz-IqdieXmCsdCZu-CpIAUu9SZKwHhfeXpYEu&amp;typo=1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">World Sailing</a>&nbsp;- the sport's international governing body.</p><p><br></p><p>The organisation is renowned for leading the way in promoting voluntary climate action at every stage of the sport.
