Katy started her professional path at the advertisement agency where the leadership applied gender lens to the workplace which politicised her in this matter. Later she went to work on renewable and sustainability projects in Ghana and Ethiopia, where she experienced climate injustice first hand. It was exactly this experience that made her work on intersection between climate, environment and gender as well as structural inequalities or rather “ecofeminist” policies within her current organisation - EEB. This episode also delves into understanding what ecofeminism is, and how this concept can be applied in today’s European policy realities.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>If you want to connect to Katy, check out her <a href=\"https://www.linkedin.com/in/katy-wiese-she-her-9a237285/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn</a> and <a href=\"https://twitter.com/KatyWieese\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter</a> accounts, as well as the accounts of the European Environmental Bureau - <a href=\"https://www.linkedin.com/company/european-environmental-bureau/?originalSubdomain=be\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn</a>, <a href=\"https://twitter.com/Green_Europe\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter</a>.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Relevant links and recommendations from Katy:&nbsp;</p><p><a href=\"https://eeb.org/library/why-the-european-green-deal-needs-ecofeminism/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Why the European Green Deal needs ecofeminism</a> - EEB Report</p><p><a href=\"https://www.wecf.org/a-feminist-european-green-deal/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">A Feminist European Green Deal – towards an ecological and gender just transition</a>&nbsp;</p><p><a href=\"https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24154715-ecofeminism\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Ecofeminism</a> - book by <a href=\"https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/144748.Vandana_Shiva\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Vandana Shiva</a> and <a href=\"https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/313133.Ariel_Salleh\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Ariel Salleh (Contributor)</a></p><p><a href=\"https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/157654966-queer-ecofeminism\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Queer Ecofeminism: From Binary Environmental Endeavours to Postgender Pursuits</a> - book by <a href=\"https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/19565232.Asmae_Ourkiya\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Asmae Ourkiya</a></p><p><br></p><p>For more on VONA:</p><p>Sign up for our monthly Newsletter at <a href=\"http://www.vona.international\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">www.VONA.international</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Instagram <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/vona.international/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">@vona.international</a></p><p>Twitter <a href=\"https://twitter.com/VONA_int\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">@VONA_int</a></p><p>LinkedIn <a href=\"https://www.linkedin.com/company/vonainternational\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">VONA International</a></p><p><br></p><p>Podcast hosted by <a href=\"https://bit.ly/sshevchukpodcast\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Sofiia Shevchuk</a></p><p>Visuals and podcast production by <a href=\"https://bit.ly/tvpodcast\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Tamas Viski</a></p><p><br></p>","author_name":"Sofiia Shevchuk | VONA International"}
