A place. Where I’m working or where I’m sleeping? What difference does it make when I have to wait to go from one to the other. I spent my studies waiting for that, for what? Mouses are clicking, keyboards are tapping, computers whirr... Who is actually working? Us, a couple of people or a ton of machines? I take a document from one to distribute it to another while my shoes and my outfit is strangling me. A door is opening and closing tirelessly, the background sound is always the same. Finally I can go. It’s raining. I didn’t notice it. The windows are too disturbing. Walk to the bus, number 7.5. Inside is a bunch of children, rain is enchanting them with their little rain coats. Rest now. The little ones are almost screaming but it’s okay, I was one of them. Wasn't I? Or was I always the teacher? little minds growing around colorful cubes and sleepy hours. I can’t even remember this time, was I screaming “mine! mine!” or was I the little one waiting peacefully, or crying, all day to go back to my mom?

References:

Talia Stevenson, Backyard Barbecue, 2021,sound piece Sound Art - Talia Stevenson

The vaporwave mouvement in music in general

Abraham Moles, Psychologie du kitsch, 1972, livre

Dominique Rolin, l’enfant roi, 1986

Françoise Dolto, écris sur l’enfance et son rapport à la psychanalyse

Lisa Yuskavage, pratique générale

Todd Haynes, Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story, 1987, long métrage

Nicolas Buffe, Peau de licorne, 2011, CRAFT de Limoges

Sounds:

Children at school, recorded by Léna

Clicking and bus sounds, recorded by Emma

Other sounds come from BBC library BBC Sound Effects

Cover by Julia

by Lena, Emma, Morgane and Julia
","author_name":"ESA"}
