How do you wrap up a podcast after showing up every week, 50 weeks a year for 10 years?

I absolutely don't know how. Given I produce the show with the help of a couple of lovely team members behind the scenes, I guess it's up to me to decide. So to that end, I have decided to do two things:

  1. To share a few reflections on what I believe I know for sure after having interviewed 490 people (because I did a few solo shows in the mix). Some of these things might surprise people or might sound quite political, but actually, what I have learnt is that so much of what I believe to be excellent healthcare is out of reach for the average person. So much of what prevents health is an uphill battle for most people. By that, I mean things like clean air, clean water, and access to local nutritious food. Things are political when we think about it that way.
  2. To share a lot of lovely favourite shows of our listener community, I did a newsletter callout recently to get people who felt they had the time or wanted to share their favourite episodes over the years with me. I was absolutely blown away by some of the messages I received, and while I couldn't read out all 60, I chose a few so if you’re curious, you’ll love these as it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. It wasn’t the biggest names, but there was enormous impact on people’s lives. So happy to hear and read these…

Even through all 60 of the messages and emils I received, there were no specific repeat shows. People really loved the whole gamut of what we produced, and that speaks to the incredible diversity of curiosity and thought in our community, the different needs of different people. I'm really proud of having shown up, providing such a wide variety of shows to speak to all those different needs.
