On the final episode of Season 3, Dr Sara Black and Sylvie Carlos are joined by Dr Aisha Phoenix, to discuss her research into young people’s experiences of colourism, particularly through humour. Aisha is a Lecturer in Social Justice at the School of Education, Communication and Society and a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow.
The conversation examines why colourist jokes are often seen as more acceptable than racist jokes, particularly when they take place between young people from the same racialised group.
