About the guest speaker:
Dr. Avner Barnea is a former senior official with the Israel Security Agency (ISA) known also as Shabak. He gained significant experience in counterintelligence, mainly in operating against Soviet/ Russian intelligence. He is a Research Fellow at the National Security Studies Center (NSSC), the University of Haifa, and publishes intensively on intelligence failures both by Israel's intelligence and by foreign intelligence agencies and lessons to be taken out of these events. As he is also an academic lecturer on competitive intelligence and a senior consultant to corporations in Israel and abroad, he has a broad perspective on national and intelligence in business.
