Set during the English Renaissance, the tale takes place within the confines of a cloistered, claustrophobic Cistercian monastery in the hours counting down to the arrival of Cromwell's men. Our monks, mortally dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, live surrounded by marsh fires and Will o' the Wisps.
Perhaps the King's Men will never make it through the fens?
Perhaps being caught in a trap is the perfect time for haunting presences to encourage a little carnality...
This story is inspired by the long and brilliant tradition of ghostly monk stories.
