Sports marketing exec Iain Banner managed Rothmans sponsorship of the Williams F1 team in the 1990s. He went on to co-found the Laureus World Sports Awards and was integral in bringing Formula E to Cape Town last year. He shares his stories of working with Nelson Mandela and why he doesn’t think it’s the right time for F1 to return to South Africa.
