But endurance in the faith was never meant to be an isolated journey. Notice the transition in verse 12: "Therefore..." Using imagery from Isaiah and Proverbs, the author calls the church family to step in: lift drooping hands, strengthen weak knees, and clear level paths.

As God trains you through hardship, He builds spiritual stamina in you so that you can help others who are struggling. Your endurance isn't just about your personal spiritual survival; it's meant to strengthen the whole body. When we endure trials with Gospel-centered hope, we make the road smoother for those walking behind us, so that the weary are healed rather than abandoned to fall. We need each other to finish the race.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You did not call me to run this race alone. Forgive me for times when I pull away into isolation. Give me the courage to lean into the Christian community, and use my life to strengthen and encourage others who are limping. We will keep enduring together. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today's Practice

Reach out to one person in your church or small group today who seems weary or absent, and offer a simple word of encouragement.
","author_name":"Various"}
