A parent trains their own child because they love them, claim them, and are deeply invested in their future. The Jewish believers listening to Hebrews knew Proverbs 3 by heart. They sang it in their synagogues, but in the heat of trial, they lost sight of its core truth: hardship in the hands of God is proof of adoption, not rejection.

If God left you entirely to your own devices without any divine correction or shaping, that would be a cause for concern. The fact that God is actively working on your heart—even through uncomfortable circumstances—proves that you belong to Him. If you judge God’s love purely by your circumstances, you will constantly feel abandoned. But if you judge God’s love through the Cross, you realize your relationship is forever secure.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You that You do not leave me as a spiritual orphan. Thank You for claiming me as Your own. When hard times come, help me rest in the assurance that You are training me because You love me and accept me. Amen.

Today's Practice

Write down your biggest current struggle on a piece of paper and write over it in bold letters: "Proof of Sonship, Not Rejection."

Visit our website at https://www.rlcc.ph
","author_name":"Various"}
