He understands that the grueling regimen has a clear, loving purpose: preparing him for glory. Yet in our spiritual lives, when financial stress, sickness, or relational pain hits, our immediate human instinct is to misinterpret what is happening. We default to thinking: "God is angry with me," or "God has abandoned me".

The author of Hebrews reminds us that we often stumble simply because we have forgotten how God addresses us. God is not an angry judge executing a penalty; He is a loving Father conducting world-class conditioning. When you re-frame your hard season through the lens of the Cross, you realize that your hardship is not evidence of His absence, but the arena of His active care.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, forgive me for forgetting who I am to You. When life gets hard, help me not to interpret my pain as Your absence or rejection. Remind me today that because of what Jesus did on the Cross, I am forever Your beloved child. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today's Practice

Whenever you feel weary or tempted to complain today, pause and say: "This pain is not meant to break me; my Father is preparing me."
","author_name":"Various"}
