James Constantine is a keen runner (he’s bloody quick, too) and he is also part of the huge team putting on this year’s Sydney marathon, presented by Asics, on Sunday September 17.
It is a very special event this year- it is a “candidate race” in hunt to join New York, London, Berlin, Boston, Tokyo and Chicago as a World Marathon Major. To earn major status, they have a checklist of 104 requirements, one of the key requirements being the number of runners participating.
Already they have over 10,000 people signed up which will make it officially the biggest marathon event ever held in Australasia.
In this conversation with James, we talk about the process of Sydney trying to join the ranks of the world’s most prestigious marathons.
