QPR pre-match podcast & Brentford Owner Matthew Benham EXCLUSIVE interview discussion
The Matthew Benham Interview discussion starts around 20 min 30 seconds or so
March 2016. A year after Mark Warburton and David Weir spoke to Beesotted about their differences with Brentford owner Matthew Benham, we sat down with Benham himself for an exclusive interview
It had been a turbulent period for the Bees. Warburton had departed, Brentford had changed direction and the club was trying to establish a very different way of doing things.
In this fascinating interview, Benham talks openly about the decisions that had been made, lessons learned, mistakes along the way, recruitment and his vision for where Brentford could go next
Listening back to March 2016, with everything we now know about what happened over the following decade, gives a fascinating insight into the thinking behind the Brentford model while it was still taking shape
The Premier League was still a long way away. But many of the foundations for the Brentford we know today were already being laid
