Playing basketball at a high level being coached by Andrew Gaze, Jack went from being fit and healthy young man dabbling in drugs until alcohol and drug addiction took over and completely derailed Jack’s life.

After becoming homeless, suicide attempts, psychosis, living a life of crime and hitting complete rock bottom Jack got into rehab and did the word to free himself. He studied drug and alcohol counselling and is now running outreach programs to help kids and adults free themselves from the hold of addiction.

Using his own experiences, Jack is passionate about using the destruction of his past as his greatest asset to give the hope of freedom to people suffering with addiction, and educating the community with the reality of addiction. Working at the coal face of addiction treatment with various leading addiction treatment centres in Australia, appearing on national television, regularly commenting in broadcast media and print, working with government and being in and around addiction for over a decade, he has positively impacted thousands of lives.

I loved this conversation with this amazing human.

To reach out to Jack go to

https://realdrugtalk.com.au/

@realdrugtalk

Or to find out more about Jacks outreach program to go

https://connectionbasedliving.com.au/

This episode was brought to you by Monday Distillery. To check them out go to

www.mondaydistillery.com

For more resources such as coaching or to join the next HIQA challenge go to

www.iquitalcohol.com.au

Follow HIQA insta @howiquitalcohol

Music for Monday Distillery ads by Ash Grunwald

www.ashgrunwald.com

Music for Podcast intro and outro written by Danni Carr performed by Mr Cassidy

If you are struggling with physical dependancy on alcohol consider contacting a local AA meeting or a drug and alcohol therapist. Always consult a GP before stopping alcohol.
","author_name":"Danni Carr"}
